Part-time, Strength & Conditioning Coach

Job Description:
The position will support and assist oncology patients before, during, and after cancer treatment and chronic illnesses. The duties will focus on aiding in the creation of a safe, positive, and welcoming training environment designed to improve metrics that correlate with overall health and cancer-specific outcomes for these individuals (increased muscle mass and bone density, decreased fat mass, increased functional movement, strength, and performance).

Inspire Exercise Medicine is an environment that promotes physical health for cancer patients in a manner that is not part of standard cancer care.

Mission Statement:
To improve body composition in cancer patients, improve their overall performance and physical function, offset several side effects of cancer treatment, like bone density and muscle loss, and produce generally healthy and more resilient individuals. Individuals will be part of research studies that will publish and report on our findings.

Responsibilities:
· Teach, coach, and instruct proper training techniques. Assist in spotting, when necessary.
· Aid in the development, implementation, and monitoring of exercise programs focusing on resistance training in an individualized and group setting.
· Perform routine validated and scientific measurements and assessments of metrics, including strength, body composition, movement patterns, and resting metabolic rate to monitor improvement and development in participants.
· Participate in data collection and documentation of exercise programs, impact of reported metrics, and inclusion of future metrics.
· Participate in future strength and conditioning exercise development and research protocols for individuals with cancer.
· Aid in group-based and individualized warm-up and cool-down programs and program monitoring to improve compliance and reduce injury risk.
· Work closely with the Exercise Oncology Group for development of training protocols, potential research protocols, and reassessment of goals in the cancer population.
· Conduct, and assist in presentations to visiting physicians, coaches and students.
· Anticipate potential risks of injury, and implement emergency medical procedures, when necessary.
· Supervise and assist in general maintenance and cleaning of the facility. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight of all training equipment needs, preventative maintenance, repairs, and ordering of all facility cleaning equipment and supplies.
· Ensure the facility is in proper order when opening, throughout the day, and closing.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge on current strength and conditioning research.

Working Hours:
Mon – Friday, Hours Vary 7:00am-6:00pm
Saturdays: 7:45am-12:15pm

Required Qualifications:
Have one of the following nationally recognized and accredited certifications.
• NSCA, NASM, ACSM ,ACE,CPT
• At least 1-3 years of strength and conditioning experience
• CPR/AED certified.
• Minimum High School Graduate.
• Must complete and pass a background check.

Preferred Education/Certification:
• Bachelor’s degree (preferable in exercise science, physical education, health, nutrition, kinesiology)
• Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (Preferred)

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule:
• Monday to Saturday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:
• Naples, FL 34105: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
